{"id":2517,"date":"2009-06-07T00:00:20","date_gmt":"2009-06-07T08:00:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stormbruiser.com\/chase\/?p=2517"},"modified":"2009-10-20T21:16:38","modified_gmt":"2009-10-21T05:16:38","slug":"june-7-2009-i-70-kansas-storms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/stormbruiser.com\/chase\/2009\/06\/07\/june-7-2009-i-70-kansas-storms\/","title":{"rendered":"June 7, 2009  I-70 Kansas storms"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After a long couple of chase days, I began this one in Oklahoma City.\u00a0 It was time to head to Denver for the next three tours, but northeastern Kansas beckoned.\u00a0 Severe storms initiated near the KS\/NE border, south of Beatrice, and moved east.\u00a0 Mark and I were only as far as Topeka, though, and it would be an effort in futility (or in Missouri&#8212;same thing) to  catch these.\u00a0 We headed west on I-70 towards Denver, with the hope that something else might go up, perhaps around Salina.\u00a0 We wound up on weak junk at sunset near New Cambria, east of Salina.\u00a0 A couple of locals drove up to shoot the breeze with us real storm chasers.\u00a0 We informed them that we were the most famous chasers in the world, and that we weren&#8217;t supposed to talk to strangers.<\/p>\n<p>On an even less-important note, I was playing around with some new fonts for my copyright information on these images.\u00a0 In the interests of full disclosure, I have decided on MS Reference Sans Serif for now (as seen on the final image).\u00a0 &#8220;Sans serif&#8221;
