and “When are you going to clean your room?” I say “Mom, just leave me alone.”

Well, I am moving slowly in the direction of trying to get my images a little more exposure (especially the ones that are under-exposed). My task at this point in time is to pick out my best two dozen or so “storm” images. And, I am going to stick primarily to only digital images, which commenced in 2006. I went through my storm chase photos from the past half dozen years, selected about 90, and uploaded them to the “MISC” in the Lightroom section of SB, which has been terribly neglected for several years. Here is the link for these candidates for “best of the best” digital images since 2006.

If you like living on the edge, then click on the “media per page” thingie in the bottom right, and then choose “96”. You’ll get everything to show up, unless the folder somehow mushrooms to more than 96.

Since I find time spent trying to pick out my best storm photos tedious and boring and difficult, this is your chance to help, if you want to. Feel free to let me know your favorite storm images among the ones I have picked out, and/or other ones on SB that I did not include. Ideally, for me, I would like to get feedback from several folks with their Top 5 or Top 10 or Top 20 list. If there is a slide image from before 2007 (in the tornado, storms, lightning sections, for instance) that you think warrants consideration, then don’t be afraid to include it.

What I am looking for are the storm images that excel in the WOW factor, the artistic/composition/photography competence factor, the “Gee, I would give anything to have taken that picture” factor. The final selections should be stunning storm images that would look great in a gallery, in a large coffee table book, and framed on the wall of your den. There should be a decent mix of tornadoes, storm structure, lightning, and even stormy sunsets and rainbows, I figure.

Thanks to everyone out there who is inclined to help!

you can e-mail me at

bill@stormbruiser.com

and, if you want me to, I can make public your selections on SB.

I have been asked frequently “Bill Reid, when are you going to publish a book with your best storm photography?” “When are you going to… [Read More]

[48,19

0":"post-7790","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-48","7":"category-updates","8":"entry
["GET
