Following the chase on the 15th in Missouri, the weather pattern went terribly sour for storm chasers. On the 16th we had a short day and stayed in Hays, KS. On the 17th we headed north and west, as the next best shot for chase-worthy weather looked to be near SD/MT in a couple of days. Along the way in eastern Colorado, we spent some time at an abandoned farmstead south of Kirk, and visited Lois Scott, south of Lindon. It was at the Scott’s house where Charles Bustamante and I took refuge from the “Last Chance” storm of July 21, 1993.
