June 17th was the day of our Aurora, NE, tornado intercept. As the parent supercell continued its trek eastward from Hamilton County to York County, we had a splendid view of its back side. Lightning was frequent in and around the updraft tower, so most of my exposures caught at least some lightning. I thought that there were enough quality images here to warrant a separate entry for June 17.
These images were taken from south of Aurora, looking east, from 9:45 to 10:20 p.m. CDT. ISO settings ranged from 100 (early on) to 500, F-stops were primarily 2.8 to 4.0, and shutter speeds were mostly 4 to 8 seconds.
