There are several new additions to the Bruiser this month. I spent several days of photography bliss in the desert areas of east-central California during the week of March 8-15, and just finished the seemingly endless and tedious post-processing and web site uploading. This link takes you to the links for these March shoots. Or, you can check out the sample images below and click on the highlighted links.
I am also working on my chase highlights video for 2009. It is about half completed, and may or may not be ready by the time I leave for chase 2010. Unfortunately, it appears doubtful that it will be ready and available before I am back home from storm chasing this summer. Patience is mandatory!
One of the surprise highlights on my desert trip was the brilliant (well, more “dim” than brilliant) appearance of the Zodiacal Light.
March 8th featured the Ibex Dunes, Saratoga Springs, some great lenticular clouds, and the Mormon Point area in Death Valley.
On March 12th we checked out the Trona Pinnacles, the Panamint Valley, and Darwin Falls, and again had a great display of “Sierra wave” lenticular clouds at sunset.
March 13th was a cool and windy day along the Eastern Sierra and the Alabama Hills, and then into the remote Saline Valley.
On March 14th we visited Keeler and Cerro Gordo in the morning, saving the Eureka Dunes for the soft light of sunset (and sunrise on the 15th!).
Finally, the highlights on March 15th were at Fossil Falls and Red Rock Canyon.
