After sunset this day I found a lonely spot north of Darwin, California, along Saline Valley Road. This was near Route 190, between Keeler and Panamint Springs, and night skies are very dark here! I was hoping that the new-ish 3-day-old moon would not be problematic for viewing the Zodiacal Light, but it was. The Zodiacal Light was washed out despite the crescent moon between about 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. And, when the moon set, the ZL was fading, too. Oh well. I took a bunch of shots anyway with the 5D, and got some pretty wide-angle images to the west and southwest primarily. You’ll be able to make out Orion, the moon, the Pleiades, and perhaps a very faint Zodiacal Light, which stretches from the horizon up towards the Pleiades.

Love the composition of No. 4 in the series! And the crescent moon!
