This was the fourth day on the road for Tour 3, and we were still riding out the lame weather pattern. Fortunately, it appeared that a favorable setup would be materializing in a couple of days or so. In the meantime, we had to settle for scraps.
We were able to relax until late morning at Limon, as the expected convection was just an hour or two away, along the CO/KS border. Meager moisture was in place, so severe weather was unlikely with any high-based cells. We killed time at the Genoa Tower and lunched at the diner in Flagler. Tall storm towers were nearby as we were lined up to pay our bills. We played with high-based, dusty, outflowish junk which exhibited little to get excited about, primarily from about Sharon Springs to Colby.
A new cell beckoned to our north which pulled us north to Atwood and east a little, but it was quickly mush. After the requisite pretty rainbow stop, we headed to the Imperial Inn for the night.
