This was a rather long chase day! We began in Clinton, OK, and knew we needed to get well south into central TX. We were forced WAY down south to the Ballinger/Santa Anna, TX area, and tried to get in front of an HP supercell that was tracking ESE in the Ballinger area.
As we got into position near Santa Anna, the supercell quickly croaked. Fortunately, another one was an easy intercept to the south, near Mason.
It wrapped up nicely to our west, and chased us southeast to Fredericksburg. It had a great couplet and it appeared that Fredericksburg was very vulnerable to a possible rain-wrapped tornado around 9:30 p.m. But, the supercell weakened a little and the action area missed the town a tad to the northeast.
