SPC painted a slight risk along the Front Range of the Colorado Rockies today. We started off in Castle Rock, and we moseyed on south a bit to Pueblo, where moisture looked a tad better. While waiting around in the early afternoon, we went west of Pueblo about 20 miles, but the sky was not looking good there. I decided to head back to the east, out on the Plains well east of Pueblo, where the chasing is better and moisture was just as good (even though this was east of and outside of SPC’s slight risk area).
We managed to catch a couple of pretty high-based supercells in the vicinity of Arlington and Haswell. These moved south and sputtered, but we got about as much out of this day as nature mustered.
