In the companion entry for this date is a wide array of dust and wave-cloud photography from the Owens Valley and Panamint Valley.  The west winds were blowing at about 40 – 50 mph through Towne Pass and the lenticulars in practically all directions were looking fabulous!  I descended into Death Valley along 190, as a massive lenticular cloud hovered above large swath of dust in the low flats west of Stovepipe Wells.  I wound up at the Mesquite Dunes after sunset, and watched them disappear beneath a large swath of dust!
