Ruidosa, TX, is a dinky little hamlet at the ends of the earth, WSW of Marfa, on the Rio Grande. Yes, we were forced to the Mexican border today in order to see any thunderstorms, but it was worth it! The scenery was fantastic and the late afternoon storms coming out of Mexico were very pretty. We even had a decent CG-producing hailstorm at dusk between Ruidosa and Presidio. And where were all of the other chasers this day? Did everyone give up? Okay, maybe they were a little farther northwest. Here is a look along Pinto Canyon Road, which goes unpaved about halfway to Ruidosa.
And below are two more from Pinto Canyon Road, and the storm near Ruidosa.
