Start, Raton, NM; end, Limon, CO; 291 miles; lunch at Qdoba in Castle Rock

Sometimes it is fun just to pick a remote road on the map and just drive to it and check it out.  I don’t recall doing just that on this day, but I may as well have.  There was a marginal risk of severe weather on the High Plains of E CO and E WY, as moisture was still in short supply.  We expected little in the way of weather, and we received nothing in the way of weather.  I had the tour group wandering around on some roads between Kiowa and Agate.  One of the roads was Bijou Drive.  You never know when Bijou Drive might come in handy for a tornado intercept.  Now that I am familiar with it, there will be no surprises.
