May 21, 2016 Nothing in southeast WY

Start, Limon, CO; end, Kimball, NE; 538 miles; lunch at the A&W in Pine Bluffs, WY

When you chase for two full months every year, there are always going to be a couple of days when your forecast target area winds up being a dud, while a great storm occurs somewhere else where you could have been.  Today was one of those days for me, as I targeted the Chugwater to Wheatland area of WY, while a really nice tornadic supercell made a lot of chasers happy near Leoti, KS.  Fortunately, the pain of this chase day faded quickly as we saw tornadoes on each of the next four days.

If you care — we saw some towers struggling along I-25 in the Chugwater area quite late in the afternoon.  These gave us a little hope at the time, but they sputtered.  I took a total of zero pictures.
