Start and end/Denver
The start of Tour 6 was tomorrow, and we were in Denver for the T5/T6 tour turnaround. The afternoon of the 13th was looking like a possible upper-end chase day on the High Plains, and SPC drew a big, fat enhanced slight risk from the OK Panhandle to the NE Panhandle. It looked to me like southeastern Colorado might be a little better then northeastern Colorado, but we were on a leash and had to finish up the chase day within a couple of hours of Denver. Hopefully the Palmer Divide play would work — parameters looked good overall, but low-level moisture and upslope flow were just so-so and tornado expectations were not high. But, it is Colorado in June, right?!
We headed out towards Deer Trail and Agate, and watched a storm develop west of Agate. This one sputtered and eventually strengthened, and moved north. It was never able to organize and look good, and it went into sputter mode again. We tried to salvage something west of Last Chance to Brush, but the storms were junk. As we motored back to the hotel near the Denver Airport, we stopped on an overpass and enjoyed the sunset and double rainbow.
