Start/Belle Fourche, SD
End/Stratton, CO
about 520 miles
This was the final chase day for Tour 6 and mini tour B. The best combination of shear and instability, where storm development was expected on the High Plains, was in the Nebraska PH and in northeastern Colorado. We moseyed southward from Belle Fourche and Rapid City to the Sterling, Colorado area, in time to see a supercell develop near Atwood. The cell became outflow dominant which effectively killed any tornado potential. From here we continued southward to sample another storm or two. There was not much to get excited about, but the sunset was pretty! It was an easy drive into Denver on the 24th for the tour switcheroo.
