With a start in Ogallala, Nebraska, we were too far north for the southeastern New Mexico play (though we could have made it to the 05Z/nighttime supercell south of Portales). We could have shot up north to set up for the Day Two play in the Dakotas, but we had to be back in OKC on Day 3. The tornado prospects were nil (at best) in the Dakotas on Day Two, so today we stayed south and drifted into the western Texas Panhandle for some weak late-day convection.
