Today’s picture-taking adventure takes us to the east end of San Nicolas Island. As usual, I had to make my way there via the bicycle. The ride is not too difficult, maybe 12 miles total roundtrip from Nicktown. On the east end is a pier, and a few old things to photograph. Sometimes the beaches are filled with seals, but there weren’t too many hanging around on this afternoon. We will start with a couple of shots of San Nicolas Island from the air, and a rainbow behind the control tower (from different days).
The images below are in the vicinity of the pier.
Some seals near the pier…
The pier is on a south-facing beach on the east end of the island. The images below are from areas to the northeast of the pier, and the “beach” here faces to the east. There is some old wreckage just to the west of the road, and an old dilapidated structure. Are all dilapidated structures old?
The birds and seals below were along PCH-West (the road along the north coast of the island), on a beach north of the airport.
