This morning I managed to get up rather early, as a lunar eclipse was in progress. It was well-timed for viewers on the West Coast of the U.S., as “totality” was an hour or so prior to dawn. In addition, thick high clouds from the day prior had moved out of Southern California, and the weather was calm and mild and beautiful! I took some shots from my favorite nearby high point on the edge of Nicktown — some wide angle 15mm shots and some at 200mm. These were between 5:45 a.m. and 6 a.m. About an hour later I got some shots of the moon as it set, with some zooms of Santa Barbara Island, too!
