April 11, 2018 Owens Valley Lenticular Clouds

The weather pattern was showing a great setup for the “Sierra Wave.”  Fast westerly flow aloft in advance of an upper-level trough would develop over the Southern Sierra, and that meant a good chance of a great display of lenticular clouds.  I got myself up into the Owens Valley by early afternoon, and was not disappointed!   These images were taken primarily between Haiwee and Lone Pine, including some halfway up Whitney Portal Road on the west side of Owens Valley.
