Start:  Eads, CO

Lunch:  Brush/Wendys

End:  Kimball (dinner at “Beer and Loathing” Bar)

SPC Day One/20Z

Tour 2 began out of OKC on May 5, and we high-tailed it northwestward to the High Plains.  The pattern was not good, and there were no storms to chase on May 5.

A slight increase in moisture and upper-level energy way out west were not adequate for strong storms on the High Plains on May 6.  We made our way to the Albin, WY, and Harrisburg, NE, vicinity and observed some high-based thunderstorms.

This was one of those dull chase days where you are hoping for something pretty to photograph towards sunset, when the light gets good.  We found a rainbow south of Gering, and then a red farmstead to go with it.
