August 4, 2018 Foggy Domes on San Nicolas Island

August 4, 2018 By William Reid Leave a Comment

On this weekend afternoon on the island, I had access to a vehicle.  It was mostly clear on the eastern half of the island, but a breeze from the west was pushing fog up against the western half.  I headed to the top of the island, where most of the radar domes are.  Two or three in particular were on the edge of the fog bank, and this made for some interesting shots.

Next, I headed down to Rockcrusher, but the fog and light were not too good there.  Back up on top, I did a little more fog and dome photography, and then was along one of the south-facing slopes at sunset.
