A decent-sized northwesterly swell was impacting the western side of San Nicolas Island today, so Andy and I made the 10-minute drive from Nicktown to check it out. The late-afternoon light was nice at Rock Crusher. I don’t think that I can call “Rock Crusher” a beach. It is at the western edge of the island which bears the full brunt of the Pacific Ocean, and it is as dangerous as it is pretty.
From there we headed back inland a little, and then down to the north coast on the west end. The surf was not quite as rough here, and the beach sand was littered with seals and/or sea lions.
