This was my second visit to Mono Lake, and the first with a digital camera. The weather was quite nice and mild, and the wind was calm. Jennifer and I approached the lake from the southeast, via Benton Hot Springs. The first stop was in a forested area (with a view of the lake), which was logged for wood for Bodie before 1900. The lake water was like glass towards sunset and dusk near the tufa towers on the south side. And, we were treated to a fabulous full moonrise, too! The images below are divided into the zoom shots (with the 70-200mm lens) first and the wide-angle (15mm lens) at the bottom.
