June 15/down day/start at Stanley/lunch at Watford City/end at Dickinson, ND/215 miles

June 15th was a down day for us.  I had the option of heading east to northwestern MN and extreme northeastern ND.  SPC showed a marginal severe risk and a 2% tornado risk.  I do not recall seriously considering that play, even though it was no more than a 3-hour drive to the east.  If I recall correctly, I think that the models were showing some good storms largely north of the Canada/U.S. border.  The storm reports map shows no severe reports in that region  (fortunately!).  We did not have the option of chasing into Canada due to the COVID-19 restrictions.

The following day was looking like a western Dakotas day, so today we did a little sight-seeing in the Theodore Roosevelt National Park.

Development on this chase day was quite late.  We went bowling in Dickinson and visited a dinosaur museum, and poked around Glen Ullin and Regent and adjacent areas before getting in front of some high-based storms south of Glen Ullin.  These were not organized much, but they had enough lightning to make it a good chase day.
