December 21, 2020 Jupiter and Saturn Conjunction (plus the Earth’s Moon!)

A conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn occurred on this date.  It was the closest that these two planets have appeared in our sky in the past 800 years!  I attached the Canon 6D to the Celestron C8, turning the telescope into a 2000mm lens.  These were shot from my front yard.  The planet images are moderately cropped.

Finally, here is a shot with the iPhone from the previous evening, taken through the eyepiece of the telescope.
