Tour 7 began on the 19th out of Denver, and our group stayed with some barely-organized storms along U.S. 36 from Last Chance to St. Francis. One slinky funnel cloud was observed near Last Chance. Burlington Colorado, was our home for the night.
For the 20th, we got up a little early and headed to the western end of a slight risk, near St. Joseph, Missouri. We were in time for initiation, and were in decent position on a rotating cell or two in the Cameron area. These cells appeared to be in a rather favorable locale for continued strengthening, but they opted for sputtering and weakening. Yuck. We wound up at Chillicothe. 638 miles.
Finally, for this post, we used June 21 as a re-position/down day and headed back into eastern Nebraska. We stopped in downtown Lincoln for a photoshoot of the State Capitol. End: Columbus, 303 miles.
