September 24, 2021 Planes at LAX

September 24, 2021 By William Reid Leave a Comment

It has been a while since I have posted some images from LAX.  Friday afternoon was interesting in that thunderstorms developed southeast of LAX, over Orange County, and then moved southwest towards Catalina.  These were not very spectacular from Los Angeles AP, however.  I saw no lightning with them, and they were just a bit distant and a bit “blah.”   Another weak cell (with thunder!) moved off of the San Gabriel Mountains towards Glendale, and sputtered.

So, here you will find some semi-interesting sky images from the day, and a lot of planes coming and going.  It has been about 18 months since flight were cut back dramatically due to the pandemic, but on this day I saw a few jets from airlines not seen since then.
