My storm video is on youtube! A big thanks to Kirstie Johnson, the uploading guru who is doing the bulk of this work. We are selecting some of the best Bill Reid storm chases and music-storm-video montages from the vast archives for your veiwing and listening pleasure. Many of the tornado clips are long, and the plan is to post two versions for each event — a quick one-minute version, and a generally unedited long version. This way you can see the highlights of the event on the short youtube clip and then decide if you want to check out the long version. All right, let’s get to the list of videos now up on “Reidstormvid”:
CLIPS with MUSIC
“Marching Theme” by Neutral Milk Hotel — lightning and lots of TL (time lapse) of the tornadic supercell near Hennessey, OK on May 24, 2008. No illicit drugs were involved during editing.
“Golden Ball” by Stereolab — the opening clip from 2008’s “The Tower? Rapunzel!” includes plenty of storm TL from 2008, for the most part. You’ll like this one if you like undecipherable lyrics and a repetitive and frantic pace…and who doesn’t like that? Warning: not recommended for fans of Air Supply.
Destroy Everything You Touch (Catholic version) by Ladytron — moody and tornadically monotonous, with a monumental and mesmerizing finale. Amen.
