Charlie B. and I took a drive north into the southern Owens Valley, hoping for some wave cloud activity or other interesting weather.\u00a0 It was not to be.\u00a0 We went into exploration mode late in the afternoon, and found a lonely road up into the Sierra, west of Owens Lake.\u00a0 It was “Cottonwood Road,” which was a coincidence as the creek was also named “Cottonwood”.<\/p>\n

The road ran out abruptly, we changed into our stream-action photography outfits, and lugged our tripod and camera bags up the trail, never to be seen again.<\/p>\n
