Some pics from our reposition day on June 19th…looks like the drive was gloom and doom.

June 20 chase
Some strong and organizing activity was moving eastward through the Chugwater vicinity early-mid afternoon, and we were approaching it from east-to-west through Scottsbluff to the Yoder, WY vicinity. We stopped maybe ten miles west of a sculpted and low storm base that was coming at us. It looked like that was the main show, but then a relatively new base not far to our SSW spit out a tornado. This tornado persisted for a few minutes! I was surprised that that occurred where it did. We were chased eastward back towards Scottsbluff, and a larger and more-prominent circulation was evident on radar, right on our heels. That was rather rain-wrapped and we could not discern a tornado for sure.
