May 31, 2025 Junky Foothill Storms near Pueblo…and Trinchera

May 30/down day/Brownfield to Clayton, via Amarillo Big Texan/332 miles

May 31/Start: Clayton/lunch: 87 Restaurant in Clayton/End: Denver/434 miles

The weather pattern went stale for a few days as May ended. On the 30th the Tour 5 group had a meal at the Big Texan, and on the 31st we watched some so-so storms move off of the high terrain towards I-25 a little south of Pueblo (see first six pics below). Those storms became tiresome and we headed back to the base in Denver that evening.

Prior to those storms on the 31st we killed time at Walt’s Corner and the tiny settlement of Trinchera, Colorado (see iPhone pics below).
