May 9, 2018 Jennings, Kansas, Pretty Stormy Sunset with Mammatus

Begin:  Fort Dodge, Iowa

Lunch:  Omaha

End:  McCook, NE

SPC Day One (20Z)

SPC Mesoscale Discussion 373

This tour began on May 5th, and each chase day thus far seemed to be very sketchy due to marginal moisture.  On May 9th, we motored from northwestern Iowa to northwestern Kansas and another marginal risk.   A high-based storm or two provided some decent photo opportunities and a great mammatus field towards sunset.  We were just east of Jennings for the most part for these images (southeast of Oberlin and southwest of Norton).
