Today featured a very long drive from OKC in order to get to the area around the extreme southeast corner of New Mexico. SPC was rather gung-ho on “intense supercell” and perhaps “strong tornado” development along and near a boundary that was sagging southward, a bit north of I-20. Rather chilly east winds were just north of the E-W boundary. When storms went up along the boundary, they looked good for a bit, and then they went BLAH once they ventured a bit too far north of the boundary. The pictures show mushy tops — yuck. There was too much low-level stable air this afternoon, I suspect.
