SPC Day One 20Z

Mesoscale Discussions 2:45 p.m. CDT. 3:37 p.m. CDT. 7:48 p.m. CDT

The first chase day for Tour 5 out of Denver necessitated a long drive southward into the western Texas Panhandle. SPC showed a slight risk, and I think we had a severe box, but the storms intercepted were poorly organized and quickly became outflowy and consolidated and junky. Who wants to chase a consolidated storm?

The best part was near the TX/NM border, around Grady, NM. Some updrafts formed quickly nearby and looked halfway decent for a minute or two.
