Start: Clinton, OK/lunch: grab-and-go at Sweetwater, TX/End: San Angelo/529 miles
Chase account by TT guide Bob Conzemius
Strong storms developed a bit early, and we were making our way through Sweetwater as a storm became warned down the road near Colorado City. I knew that any supercell would want to start diving southeastward and into the poor road network. We made it south of Colorado City in time to get a good look at a storm base and its active lowering. As the storm advanced to the SSE/SE, it developed a big hook. We raced east towards Robert Lee to get a look, and passed beneath the wild storm base. But, the storm had a little too much cool outflow and it was not able to produce a tornado.
We continued SE with it towards San Angelo, but the storm became more and more of an outflowish HP beast.
