Today was Day One for Tour 5 out of Denver, with drivers Justin The Nicotine and Steve P.  SPC provided a marginal risk of severe for all of the High Plains, but moisture was poor and storm bases would be on the high side.  We watched some semi-interesting storms develop near Chugwater, and these drifted to the east.  There was some supercell structure, and the NWS in Cheyenne even gave me a call for some ground-based information.  Apparently their radar was indicating some decent storm organization.  I relayed that the storm base was quite high and there had been no evidence of tornado development.  We stayed just east of the hail, which was quite large (reportedly) along Road 313.  We went back west after the storm weakened and were unable to find any large stones.

Later, additional storms lured us north, and we wound up between Harrison and Chadron after sunset for a decent lightning display north of U.S. 20.
